Continuing Education Provider Information 2020-2022

CE courses/programs can only be approved by the Board if operated by an employee, officer, or director of a nonprofit professional association, college or university, proprietary continuing education institutions providing programs approved by the board, vocational school, postsecondary proprietary school of cosmetology or barbering licensed by the board, salon or barber shop licensed by the board, or manufacturer of supplies or equipment used in the practice of barbering or a branch of cosmetology. Therefore, individuals that do not meet the requirement are not eligible to provide continuing education courses.

Providers that wish to submit a course(s) for Barber CE approval will need to complete the application on the CE Broker website.  Courses for Barber CE are separate from other scopes of practice.
Therefore, if you already have a CE course approved for cosmetology or a branch of cosmetology, a separate barber CE application is required

Classes can be given based on three (3) types of delivery methods.  A workshop or seminar is considered an in-person course.  An Internet course is given online and typically available 24 hours a day.
A correspondence course is a booklet that can be mailed to licensees for completion.
